New Student Orientation at Heidelberg University

Orientation is your first step in joining the Heidelberg University community. This program is designed to help new students feel welcomed, get comfortable on campus, and start their college journey with confidence. During Orientation, you and your guests will be introduced to essential resources and connect with people who will support your success, both academically and personally.

    What to Expect at Orientation:

    • Get to know campus: Take guided tours, find your way around, and discover important locations.

    • Receive your academic schedule: Pick up your class schedule, meet with an academic advisor, and learn what to expect for your first semester.

    • Meet faculty and staff: Start building relationships with professors, advisors, and campus support teams.

    • Connect with other students: Meet classmates, including upperclassmen, and hear about their experiences.

    • Understand academic expectations: Get clear information about university policies, classroom success, and student development opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

    • Financial Aid guidance: Speak directly with Financial Aid staff about your package and managing your college finances.

Parents and families are encouraged to participate as well! Whether it’s your first or last time sending a student to college, orientation provides the chance to engage with University administrators and learn more about the many resources available at HU to support your student’s success.

We look forward to welcoming you!
