For International Students Requesting an I-20 from Heidelberg University

This form is required to issue your Form I-20 for an F-1 or J-1 student visa. It verifies that you have sufficient funding for your education at Heidelberg University.

Funding Requirements:

First year: ~$48,000 USD (2025-2026 academic year)
- Includes tuition, fees, living expenses, and books
Subsequent years: Projected funding sources for all remaining years

Acceptable Financial Documents for Your I-20

Required Documents Bring these financial documents to both your visa interview at the U.S. embassy or consulate and when entering the U.S., as Customs and Border Protection officers may request them at the port of entry.

A bank official’s signature is required on the financial documents if the student is partially or totally supported by personal savings. Bank statements and financial affidavits should be dated no older than six months, and must be original and attested by the relevant bank official.
